JESSE LEE KERCHEVAL is a poet, fiction writer, memoirist, and translator. She is the author of several books, including Brazil, winner of the Ruthanne Wiley Memorial Novella Award; Cinema Muto, winner of the Crab Orchard Open Selection Award; The Alice Stories, winner of the Prairie Schooner Fiction Book Prize; The Dogeater, winner of the AWP Award in Short Fiction; and Space, winner of the Alex Award from the American Library Association. She is the Zona Gale Professor of English at University of Wisconsin-Madison.
